Technology changes everyday and I am so excited to join the adventure of ideas that changes the way students will be educated today, tomorrow and in the future.  My vision for this class is to learn tools and technology strategies that I can apply tomorrow with my students in the classroom.  I currently teach student's at-risk in grades 9th-12th.  Specifically, I work with many students that have "fallen through the cracks" within our special education system. My students use computer aided instruction for part of the school day for credit recovery and as an option based on learning style and motivation.  I have used technology in its basic form of having my students do web-quests, power points, and research.  My hope is to expand my use so students can be actively engaged in creating his or her own websites and blogs for thoughts about life after high school.  I have to admit this is my first time blogging.  I am learning.  I am a learner.  I realize my students use technology more than I do, but I am willing to make changes in my teaching to engage and empower students to think, create and become active participants in this world of education today.
